What is Animal Migration?
Animal migration is the movement of animals from one place to another, often over long distances. Animals may migrate for a variety of reasons, including to find food, water, or a mate. Migration can also be used to escape from predators or to find a more favorable climate.
Types of Animal Migration
There are two main types of animal migration:
1. Seasonal Migration

2. Irruptive Migration
Irruptive migration is a type of migration that occurs when a population of animals experiences a sudden increase in size. This can happen when there is a sudden abundance of food or when there is a disaster that forces the animals to move. Irruptive migrations are often unpredictable and can be very large.
Examples of Animals That Migrate
Many different animals migrate, including birds, fish, mammals, and insects. Some of the most well-known examples of animals that migrate include:
